Christmas Town 2010

Welcome to my Christmas Town blog! I want to share information about Christmas Town in Busch Gardens, Williamsburg that may help you plan your trip & enjoy your time there.

A portion of Busch Gardens has been transformed into a Christmas Town with more than a million sparkling lights for the months of November & December. There are many rides open, lots of shopping, plenty of places to eat, wonderful entertainment, and live animals to view including penguins, a horse, and a border collie.

Admission is $21.99 for each visitor over the age of 3. Pass holders receive discounted tickets. You can purchase tickets on-line or at the gate.

Where to Eat at Christmas Town

There is someplace to eat in each of the countries at Christmas Town, we had a very nice dinner at Das Festhaus in Germany. We didn't realize it was dinner & a show at the same time! We headed over to the Oktoberfest area for the 5:55 show of Deck the Halls. Das Festhaus was a large eating area with long benches with a stage in the middle. We arrived just in time to get seating and get in line to buy dinner. I was surprised that the entrees weren't too expensive. I had a very tasty Salmon entree with wild rice, grean beans, and a roll for only $10.00. Other entrees at the same price were Prime Rib or a Traditional Christmas Dinner with turkey. A Salmon salad was less, and a sampler platter with German sausages with mashed potaotes & a roll was only $8.00. There was also pizza, salads and soups. Child dinners include macaroni & cheese or a turkey dinner.

Where to Stay in Williamsburg

If you're traveling from out of town, as we were, I would recommend staying at the Comfort Suites. It's a new hotel with a modern look. It's very close to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, and lots of shopping opportunities! They serve a complimentary breakfast in the morning with choice of eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, danishes, oatmeal, cold cereal and some fruit. The coffee is good too! Breakfast is served from 6:30am to 9:30am.

Check in is at 3:00pm but you can ask for an earlier checkin. It was no problem for us to get a 2:30pm check in time. That was just right to drop our bags off before we headed to Christmas Town for opening at 3:00.
